In a significant development for the fintech sector, Quantoz Payments B.V. has introduced its new Embedded Payment Services, a modular API-based platform that allows fintech companies, digital platforms, and payment service providers to seamlessly incorporate regulated digital money, accounts, wallets, payments, and compliance features into their offerings. This innovative platform marks a step forward in simplifying the creation of payment and settlement solutions across European markets, moving beyond the company’s existing e-money token services.
The Dutch group savings application, Potje, is the first company to utilize the new platform. Potje, designed to help friends, families, and colleagues save collectively towards shared financial goals, has worked closely with Quantoz during the platform’s development phase. The integration offers Potje users the security of having their funds managed by Quantoz Payments under the oversight of the Dutch Central Bank, alongside the convenience of Europe-wide Pay by Bank services for adding funds and the flexibility of instant payouts and withdrawals.
Quantoz Payments’ new service is built on blockchain-native technology and is designed to allow partners to integrate and scale different components according to their specific needs. The platform offers a comprehensive suite of features including accounts and digital wallets, inbound and outbound payments, Pay by Bank functionality, and robust fraud, risk, and compliance processes. By providing these capabilities, Quantoz aims to alleviate the operational complexities related to licensing, compliance, and safeguarding, enabling businesses to focus on innovation and growth.
Bastiaan Reurink, CEO of Potje, emphasized that the partnership with Quantoz is intended to streamline and secure the group saving process, supporting faster top-ups and instant payouts. This aligns with Potje’s ambition to establish itself as a go-to group money account solution across Europe. Meanwhile, Arjen van Klaarbergen, Chief Legal Officer of Quantoz Payments, highlighted that the service provides fintechs and platforms with the regulated digital-money infrastructure they need without the burden of constructing their own compliance and payment operations.
Operating within its current regulatory framework, Quantoz Payments is licensed as an Electronic Money Institution in the Netherlands and supervised by the Dutch Central Bank. The Embedded Payment Services are available to fintechs, platforms, and payment providers across the European Economic Area, ensuring that funds exchanged for e-money are safeguarded in compliance with European regulatory standards. Potje, as a Dutch fintech application, allows users to create digital savings pots, invite contributors, and track progress towards collective goals like group holidays and shared gifts.
