The Netherlands is experiencing a spell of hot and sunny weather, with temperatures projected to climb above 30°C in many inland areas by Friday. On Thursday, widespread sunshine will dominate, bringing temperatures up to 27°C. By Friday, the inland regions are expected to heat up further, with highs ranging from 30°C to 33°C, although coastal areas will enjoy cooler conditions due to a westerly sea breeze.
However, weather forecasters caution that the situation could change abruptly on Friday afternoon as thunderstorms are predicted to move into the southern parts of the country. These storms may bring heavy rain, hail, and strong wind gusts, prompting the issuance of a yellow weather warning for the provinces of Noord-Brabant, Gelderland, and Limburg starting from 5 p.m.
Despite the potential for storms, Saturday is forecast to remain warm and summery inland, with temperatures between 25°C and 28°C. In contrast, beaches and coastal regions will experience cooler weather. The cloud cover is expected to increase on Sunday, bringing a possibility of showers over the weekend.
As the week progresses, the weather is likely to become more unsettled. Next week’s forecast suggests an increased chance of rain and showers, accompanied by a drop in temperatures. Daytime highs are expected to fall below 20°C, signaling a shift from the current warm conditions.
